2019 The British’s Concept of Love
The British people are known for their British Cold Nature which also regarded as arrogant and aloof. The British are not very good at expressing their feelings, especially when they don't know enough about the others to a certain extent, which is not only reflected in their daily dealings, but also in the time of falling in love. Many Brits don't even like to do some affectionate contacts like holding hands or kissing with their partners in public places because they think it’s polite to do so when there are only two of them. And many couples refused to live together. One in five British couples(aged 25-34) are not cohabiting, including some who are married, according to the survey.
On the other hand, the British are very open in some ways like a one-night-stand is regarded as a common thing for British young people. So it is a common scene that boys and girls who are very serious during the day become quiet frivolous after a few drinks at nightclubs, and then maybe go home with others that night. In my opinion, this phenomenon just reflects the depressed emotional state of the British people, who need to relax with alcohol in terms of physiological needs. After all, when the British encounter people who they like from their heart, I see that they are generally conservative.
1. Despite the reservation, the British will have some imaginations about their future
For the one they like, the British will imagine what it will be like to be with each other and whether they will hit off in their future life. Sometimes because of such "expectations", they will care more about some small places. For example, when one is not enthusiastic enough about the next dating, it's easy to make the other feel like he or she is backing down because there is no spark in their relationship. It’s an art to master your attitude here as too much enthusiasm will lead to some misunderstanding. Anyway, it takes great courage to ask for a date.
2. The British ways of dating
The answer to where to eat is a big business. "Anything" or "I have no idea" will not usually show an easy-going personality but leave people an impression that you don’t have a strong-minded. Most British will tend to give some suggestions about where to eat if being asked and also sometimes you need to take notes by asking friends’ advice for a rainy day. If you take others answers like”anything” seriously and book a restaurant you like, you will be amazed when you find that they don’t like the food and suggest to eat in other restaurants instead, and the end is that you have to sneak out and call to cancel the reservation. If you think that your dating partner is not suitable for you, then don’t accept their next invitation as well as don’t make an explanation. A good trick in this situation is to suggest you go out with a group of friends, which will not hurt your partner directly while expressing your attitude.
Should guys always the person to pay the bill? Well, sometimes girls with manners need to show their care about whether they should pay for the bill as lots of women today make more money than men in this changing society. If the guy pays the bill with willingness, the girl can accept it generously with a “Thank you.”, and one way for the girl to pay him back is buying food for cooking at the guy’s home.
3. To understand the British’s flirting
Flirting for fun will not happen for the British over 40ys, who tend to have a relationship on the premise of marriage. There are, of course, some exceptions like those playboys will not take it seriously no matter how old they are. The British like to call their unmarried the other half as partners. For example, an unmarried manager in our company who has had two children already, lived a life as a married couple with his partner, with the only difference is that they don’t have the piece of certificate. The only awkwardness is to introduce their partner as"girlfriend" or "boyfriend" at such an age. "Partner" is another term gay people use. But to hear the father of two still called himself as "single" is a bit more obnoxious.
Flirting also needs a balance as over-flirt with someone will backfire and be regarded Creepy. Newspapers also teach people how to flirt with others and how to use body language to send messages to the other, etc.
4. Be in a serious relationship with a British
Usually, it takes patience to date for a quiet long time to get into a serious relationship with the remarkable sign of handing in hand, which can be guessed from the frequency of meeting each other. It is obvious to find that those singles being alone for a long time with the characteristics as they are independent enough and never need a routine. As time goes by, with friends around have their partners one by one, they will begin to find their partners with eagerness. ( The sign is that they tend to spend time on finding the right person one after another with efficiency.)
Most girls usually don’t have much patience as they would like to talk about their failing reasons in their previous relationships directly to their partners who most of the time will be scared. The girls are also more sensitive than boys as they will get lots of worries in a relationship, such as their different tastes in music, food or other aspects, which boys usually don’t care about them. In the end, the relationship will be ruined if these worried were not solved properly.
As a matter of fact, I like men's view of love in some western countries. Although they think they can love many women, they only regard one woman as their family member. They are honest.
